At Martinez Pain and Spine, we specialize in the treatment of chronic pain conditions. Chronic pain is defined as any pain lasting more than 12 weeks (or 3 months.) It is estimated that more than 100 million Americans suffer from chronic pain each year. Chronic pain may be initially caused by a specific event such as an injury, an infection, or possibly even surgery; however, many people suffer from chronic pain without a specific triggering event. In addition to the physical pain, those suffering from chronic pain may experience disrupted sleep, difficulty exercising, additional stress, or emotional distress.

The good news is that there is help available. Pain can be treated by many different providers including your primary care physician. So how do you know if a referral to interventional pain management is the right answer for you and your pain?

If your pain has persisted for 3 months or more and has not improved with conservative treatment, then a referral to pain management may be beneficial. X-rays or MRI images may also show conditions that can be successfully treated by an interventional pain management specialist.

Our physician is expertly trained to treat lower back pain, neck pain, headaches, joint pain, arthritis pain, and nerve pain. We specialize in providing an accurate diagnosis of the pain and developing a treatment plan to address not only the pain symptoms but to fix the underlying cause of the pain. If you are suffering from a herniated disc, bulging disc, sciatica, or other spine pain, joint pain, or muscular pain ask your primary care provider for a referral to our office.
