Carlos T. J. Martinez, DO is a board-certified interventional pain management specialist. He completed his medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences in 2002. He went on to train in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He further specialized his training by completing an accredited fellowship in Pain Medicine also at the University of Texas. His rigorous training included technical training in EMGs and interventional pain management procedures by the country’s leading physicians.
Dr. Martinez is dual board-certified in Pain Management and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation through the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPM&R). He is also current with all the requirements of the Maintenance of Certification program of the ABPM&R. His professional memberships include the Spine Intervention Society and the California Medical Society.
Dr. Martinez’s approach to treating chronic pain is to provide the most appropriate treatment options to relieve pain and improve patients’ quality of daily living. He helps his patients understand the cause of their pain and explains treatment options that are available. He is very conservative when prescribing pain medications and strives to return patients back to their desired activities.
